MIBR Allows tex to Explore 2027 Offers

MIBR has allowed Ian “tex” Botsch to explore offers for the 2027 VALORANT season. The experienced player said he is open to Sentinel, Smokes or Duelist positions and would consider opportunities in any region. He has not announced a new team, and the update begins a negotiation period rather than confirming his next contract.

The 2026 season was tex’s first with MIBR after two years representing LEVIATAN. He joined a broad rebuild and reunited with aspas, carrying experience from both VCT competition and the promotion system that preceded it. Within MIBR, he most often occupied the primary Sentinel position.

Cypher and Viper became his most visible agents during the year, roles that required him to anchor sites, protect space and support mid-round information. That work did not prevent him from presenting a wider profile for the offseason. His announcement specifically leaves room for Smokes, Duelist or another role if a new project requires it.

MIBR’s season did not produce an international VCT appearance. The team finished fourth at Americas Kickoff and placed in the 5th-6th range in both regional stages. A quarterfinal appearance at the Esports World Cup stood as the strongest cited result, but it did not change the absence from the main VCT global events.

A flexible player trains defensive control smokes and aggressive entry roles

The market can evaluate more than one role

tex’s recent Sentinel work gives interested teams the clearest current sample. It shows how he handles defensive responsibility, information tools and lurk timing inside a roster built around other aggressive players. A team seeking stability in that position can evaluate him without projecting an untested identity.

His willingness to play Smokes or Duelist broadens the discussion. It does not guarantee equal readiness on every agent, and it should not be interpreted as a claim that role fit is irrelevant. Instead, it signals that he is prepared to trial for systems that use his mechanical experience differently from MIBR.

The earlier career record adds context. Before joining LEVIATAN, tex won Americas Ascension 2023 with The Guard. He has therefore competed inside both promotion-focused teams and permanent top-level schedules. That range can be valuable for organizations balancing immediate results with a changing league structure.

Contract timing may make his case different from other restricted players on the market. VLR reported that tex’s MIBR agreement was due to expire during this offseason, while the other listed player deals extended through 2027. The exact legal status and effective date still depend on official documentation.

No destination, trial or negotiation partner was confirmed. A public willingness to move regions creates many theoretical fits, but listing those possibilities as active talks would exceed the available evidence. The next dependable update must come from the player, MIBR or another organization.

MIBR also has to decide how the position will be handled if tex departs. The rest of the roster carries contracts on a different timeline, so the organization could replace one role without rebuilding the entire lineup. It could also make larger changes if its internal review concludes that repeated regional finishes reflect a structural problem.

Role clarity will decide the next fit

A future team must determine whether it values tex most as a dedicated Sentinel or as a flexible veteran who can change assignments. That decision affects practice time, agent preparation and the balance of responsibilities around the in-game leader. Flexibility is useful only when the final role is defined clearly enough for the roster to develop.

For tex, the offseason creates an opportunity to compare projects across regions rather than limit the search to one familiar system. Competitive level, roster stability and the chance to play a preferred role are all likely to shape the outcome, but none of those priorities has been publicly ranked.

Until a signing is announced, the confirmed position remains straightforward: MIBR has allowed conversations, tex is open to several role categories, and no destination is final. That information is meaningful for roster tracking without requiring speculation about which organization will act first.

A player and coach evaluate several professional project offers

MIBR has opened the 2027 market for tex after a season in which he primarily played Sentinel. He is also willing to consider Smokes, Duelist or another role in any region. His experience is established, but his next team and final contractual status still require an official announcement.
